The Garden of Europe

While many girls would love a bouquet of roses, I prefer tulips.  And how lucky was I to be in the Netherlands during the annual tulip festival, Keukenhof?! Extremely lucky!  Keukenhof (aka The Garden of Europe) is open from the end of March to the middle of May and consists of millions (not an exaggeration) of bulbs with over 800 varieties of tulips. There are restaurants, a large windmill with an observation deck, gift shops, and shows, giving Keukenhof the criteria for a full day event or even a quick stop for a few hours.

From Schipol airport, you can take a direct bus dropping you off at the entrance of Keukenhof in Lisse, the Netherlands.  If you aren’t staying near the airport, don’t worry!  Public transportation is easy to navigate and there are trains headed to the airport frequently throughout the day.
